Features of Inconel 625:

1. Excellent corrosion resistance to various corrosive media in both oxidizing and reducing environments.

2. Excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, and no stress corrosion cracking due to chlorides.

3. Excellent resistance to inorganic acid corrosion, such as nitric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid and a mixture of sulfuric and hydrochloric acids, etc.

4. Excellent resistance to corrosion of mixed solutions of various inorganic acids.

5. When the temperature reaches 40℃, it can show good corrosion resistance in various concentrations of hydrochloric acid solutions.

6. Good processability and weldability, no post-weld cracking sensitivity.

7. With wall temperature in -196 ~ 450 ℃ pressure vessel manufacturing certification.

8. Certified by the American Society of Corrosion Engineers NACE standard (MR-01-75) to meet the highest standard grade VII for use in sour gas environments

Metallographic structure of Inconel 625.

Inconel 625 is a face-centered cubic lattice structure.

Corrosion resistance of Inconel 625

Inconel 625 exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in many media. Excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion and erosion in chloride media. Excellent resistance to inorganic acid corrosion, such as nitric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid, and hydrochloric acid, as well as resistance to alkali and organic acid corrosion in oxidizing and reducing environments. Effective resistance to chloride ion reductive stress corrosion cracking. Virtually non-corrosive in seawater and industrial gas environments, and highly resistant to seawater and salt solutions, as well as at high temperatures. No sensitivity in welding process. Resistant to carbonation and oxidation in static or cyclic environments and resistant to corrosion by gases containing chlorine.

Application of Inconel 625

1. Components for organic chemical processes containing chlorides, especially where acidic chloride catalysts are used.

2. Boilers and bleach ponds for the pulp and paper industry.

3. Absorption towers, reheaters, flue gas inlet baffles, fans (wet), stirrers, deflectors and flue pipes in flue gas desulfurization systems.

4. Equipment and components for manufacturing applications in acidic gas environments.

5. Reaction generators for acetic acid and acetic anhydride.

6. Sulfuric acid condenser.
